Demmer Corporation is a vertically integrated fabricator, with well-defined processes and rigorous procedures designed to ensure quality. The cellular structure of Demmer’s manufacturing and assembly operations allows the company to be flexible and agile. Depending on the individual needs of each project, a workflow may be set up to utilize some or all of the fabrication processes available, in an order that maximizes productivity.
Where appropriate, raw sheet steel or armor plate is shot blasted and checked for hardness. Plates are cut with lasers, high-definition plasma, and waterjets, all sized to accept mill run sheets to ensure the best utilization of material.
Forming is done on CNC Press Brakes ranging up to 1250 tons, with beds laying up to 56 feet in length – among the largest Press Brakes in the United States. Progressive Dies are also utilized for lighter weight high-quantity forming.
Demmer Corporation is well equipped for a wide range of welding. In addition to several hundred Certified Welders, Demmer utilizes approximately 40 Fanuc robots configured for MIG Welding, many in multiple robot cells, for large structural components. With through-the-arc seam tracking technology, these machines continuously re-calibrate to ensure precision in welding. In addition, Demmer’s welding staff includes a degreed weld engineer and a team of American Welding Society Certified Weld Inspectors.
Two primary fabrication lines at the North Facility allow for efficient fabrication of large components and structures, including complete vehicle capsules or hulls.
Other weldments come together in a fabrication cell, where powered conveyors, cameras, and robots work together to rapidly construct a wide range of different parts on an as-needed basis.
